  1. Well one wonders what the WADA is hiding if they’re willing to try to jeopardize a host city bid in order to keep people from checking their work.

  2. Less cities even want to host shitty olympics, is this really even a threat

  3. That fairly affirms that there is something to be found and supports the need for an investigation.

  4. Maybe they should have it in Russia again, pillar of openness and ally of the Games

  5. Ah yes lets blackmail the US with a laughably weak hand. That’s a bold strategy Cotton, lets see if it pays off for them

  6. OK guys. Have fun finding another city willing to take on your crap. The actual sporting events are great. The ‘Olympics ‘ have been an embarrassment for decades now.

  7. So what I’m reading is… “Olympic officials taking money to bend the rules in China’s favor.”

  8. IOC want to threaten US Salt Lake City games? I’d say go for it. It will save Salt Lake City billions of dollar in spending, security, accommodation etc.

The fact that they want to muzzle US probe on Chinese doping is glaring evidence they care more about money than truth and integrity of game.

Screw IOC and Olympics. It has outlived its usefulness.

  9. The IOC is evil. SLC should withdraw now! Do not give into extortion and Olympic corruption.

  10. so has any of the olympic officials not been corrupt? its all I have heard about them, esp the olympic comittee themselves. making countries spend billions of dollars for an olympic city that only gets used for like 3 months? its certainly a huge grift

  11. I’m not sure who they would give those Olympics too if the US doesn’t “submit to WADA supreme authority” when Salt Lake City was the only city to submit a bid

  12. Ah send it to Riyadh and show the Winter Olympics for the farce it is.

More cities should follow Oslo’s example and say it’s too much trouble dealing with the petty tyrants of the IoC who run nothing more than a jumped up school sports day but like to think they are a world power.

  13. I’d tell the Olympics to fuck right off: either we all play by the same rules and same spirit or we don’t play.

  14. Corruption is real, in these moments its just easier to build a new establishment.

While we’re ditching the olympic committee, lets get rid of FIFA as well

  15. They may as well just admit they’re taking bribes from china

  16. The Chinese are trying to buy their way to gold because they know they can’t beat us

  17. Time to double down. Olympics without the US will do about as well as Circuit City.

  18. Threatening the Salt Lake bid isn’t going to to stop a Congressional inquiry, it’ll just make Congress inquire harder. And if they actually cancelled SLC’s bid? Say hello to the World Democracy Games, or whatever name they’d give a new competing movement.

  19. > On Wednesday, members of the IOC said they agreed with WADA’s decision to accept a **claim by Chinese officials** that the positive tests **were the result of accidental contamination**.

Hmmmm, where have I heard this before??? I guess they might know something about accidental contamination.

  20. I think we also need to add a corruption investigation as well.
