If you are fine with a tiny bit of food waste, it works great
What the hell sort of blasphemy is this. I’m not even Norwegian and I’m horrified by this use of the cheese slicer …. I mean I’m impressed by the ingenuity but horrified at the same time 😂
I’m Norwegian and my cheese slicer is an everything slicer. It works great on cucumbers for cucumber salad or pickled cucumber slices.
If you are dead set on misusing the cheese slicer I recommend you try it on cold butter. Slice of cold butter + warm toast = 👌
I’m French and first time I was in Norway I had never seen a “cheese slicer”. I did have some carrots and couldn’t find a peeler so I just assumed it was the Norwegian kind. Works. Wouldn’t recommend.
I invite you to search for “descascador de legumes” on Google images. It’s what we use in Brazil to peel vegetables (and it would be strange to use it for cheese).
