Hello,
This morning my bike was stolen from my garage's door (it was locked with a small bikelock to the waterpipe).
The guy seems to have passed by with his own, old bike, cut the lock with a cutting device and left with my bike…leaving his there.
I amnin Bertrange. Where is the police? I want to file a report to the police but google maps shows me the police at the farmacy…
I guess also his bike was stolen, so he got mine as an inprovement (not an expensive bike, he is quite moronic). Shall i bring his bike to the police?
Thanks in advance!
Update:
I have been to the police and filed a report.
I gave them the picture of my bike ( https://ibb.co/QjvnR1m ) but also the picture of the other bike. Maybe someone is looking for their bike and i do have it 🙂
Thanks to all of you!
Also, no police on the apotheke building. I went to strassen.

Hey OP got my e-bike stolen yesterday. It was parked inside our residence. Had the bike for 3 weeks….
You can file a report online [here](https://police.public.lu/fr/commissariat-virtuel/plainte-en-ligne.html) That will be enough for your insurance.
The police will not come. They’ll ask you to fill out an online report and that’s it.
I really despise the system here.
Declare the theft with police.
With a battery powered angle grinders, it is unfortunately a child’s play to brake most bicycle locks.
Just a reminder to all that there are only a handful of bike locks that will stop an angle grinder. Anything that will costs €100+ and will be bulky and tricky to carry.
I never leave my expensive bike unattended, my cheap one I use a chain in most situations and, if I go somewhere risky I use a chain and a d-lock.
Your security is only as good as what you attach it to too. A drainpipe can be lifted easily, it may have been a 30s job with no tools to grab OP’s bike. Even street signs etc can often be lifted out the ground without tools.
If at all possible don’t leave your bike out at night. During the day when you go somewhere try to put it in the middle of everyone rather than hiding it.
The police is in the same building as the pharmacy. On the upper floor. There is also a huge building rue de l’industrie, but might be for other needs, if not sure just call the 113.
Sorry to hear it, mate. Was it insured?
Würd’ mir stinken wenn ich du wäre
We had a couple of bikes stolen in brussels in the past. They also always left an old bike there haha. I guess its just jow they get around until they find something suitable, +gives them an excuse to loiter around bike stands.
We learned couple things from it:
*Insurance, insurance, insurance – peace of mind and you stay way more relaxed if it happens again.
*No lock can stop a dedicated thief. But it can slow them down and, ideally, make them look elsewhere. So go for something visibly sturdy when locking it for the night.
*Alarms: you will regularly forget to disarm them and that will be unpleasant, but nobody has tried to even mess with our bikes since we installed them. You have different versions, light ones from abus or you go for the disc brake ones like the ones used for motorcycles.
Would therefor recommend a big bad chain for the nights, a more mobile lock and an alarm (or two locks) for the day, and insurance on top to stop worrying too much.
Put the bike photo here. I know some people who find things.
It seems to be a trend. Same thing happened in our building, which has the garage door broken thus always opened. They stole an ebike from the bike room, entering the building and they left an old bike in the garage.
Investing in an expensive lock is the only defence I am afraid. Too many scumbags around.
