Everyone knows by now, that case notification rate is highly dependent on how much you test – and, surprise, surprise, [Spain doesn’t test that much](https://ourworldindata.org/explorers/coronavirus-data-explorer?zoomToSelection=true&time=2020-03-01..latest&facet=none&pickerSort=desc&pickerMetric=new_cases_per_million&Metric=Tests&Interval=7-day+rolling+average&Relative+to+Population=true&Align+outbreaks=false&country=GBR~DEU~ESP~DNK~PRT)!
More relevant variables such as hospitalization rates and/or deaths are not mentioned at all. But, as it turns out, [15 countries](https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/cases-2019-ncov-eueea) have a lower death notification rate than Spain over the last 14 days.
By all means, I’m not knocking Spain, I think it’s a great country to visit and they’re in a pretty good place right now, but this article is poop.
