This metric is what dogged Milliband and Corbyn. First time since Blair that Labour’s been ahead on economic competence.
Absolutely stunning stuff. Expect the Tories to double down on culture war bullshit because that is all they have left.
But will those surveyed voters turn out and vote labour?
When they’re alone in that ballot booth will they take the chance and vote for change or stick to tried and trusted Johnson?
It’s definitely time for change.
The hardest part is winning as an unknown, that’s Starmer’s challenge. Keep the party from descending into civil war again and get a clear message out of what labour offers for the normal person.
All Johnson has to do is offer more of the same. As long as he doesn’t lose voters he doesn’t have to gain any to keep his solid majority.
That’s a far easier position to win from… for a competent leader that is
Even though the political maverick Sir Kier has almost bankrupted the Labour party, you do have to admire the political wisdom of the British people.
A fucking pity all the english cunts landed us with the tories. Hope they fucking learned their lesson and never do it again.
Why wouldn’t they, the economy always does better under Labour.
I wish it were possible/practical to pass a law that says “Being a politician should automatically disqualify you from handling anyone elses money”
Do people actually trust any politicians with the public’s money? Or do people just think one side will piss it away slower than the other?
The British people should have turned their collective backs on the Tories for ten generations after the multiple shitshows they been at the heart of, as they happily gurn their way towards authoritarianism. But there is something in the British psyche that makes them vote for the party most likely to crush their dreams, standard of living, public services and basic civilisation. Maybe it’s collective subconscious guilt for centuries of Imperial atrocities.
