Ukraine defence systems destroy dozens of Russian drones launched over Kyiv

Russia, once again, launched a series of attack drones in Kyiv early Thursday morning. Of the 38 deployed, Ukrainian air defence systems destroyed 25, Ukraine’s Air Force chief confirmed.

“Last night, the enemy used 38 Shahed-131/136 attack drones, attacking Ukrainian infrastructure in several areas, including the south of Odesa region and central Ukraine,” the commander said.

Footage capturing some of the attacks shows the Ukrainian defence systems in action, as searchlights scan the sky and air raid sirens blared out over the capital.

This attack comes 31 months after Russia invaded Ukraine, triggering the ongoing war between the neighbouring nations.

Regarding the potential for peace talks, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Thursday said, “Russia in general is open to the negotiation process,” but first needs clarification on “how ready the Ukrainian side is” to settle the war.

  3. Yes, the purpose of those slow flying drones were using for exhausting Ukraine's surface to air missiles, thats why the Patriot missiles were in attrition!

  6. Update us on the battlefield situation, it's OUR MONEY funding this forever war. We were told Ukraine could win and evil Putins regime had to be removed….so what's happening, how's that going? How's Ukraines big summer offensive?? At the gates of Moscow yet? I don't give a damn if Ukraine manages to take down a few drones….so that's supposed to be what passes for a victory?
