I ordered a gas cooker from Otto, by Gorenje. As you can see in the picture, the heating pad is not in the circle and is heavily shifted to the left side. Otto is saying that’s it’s only an optical defect and they’re offering me €50. Does any of you know whether this is a big problem essentially or do I let it go? Because if I take the €50, they said I cannot do any other warranty claim. I paid extra €50 for 4 years of warranty and you never know what can happen after this.
Any thoughts?

  1. Careful. You see, if you cant make ANY OTHER warranty claims, if something else unrelated gets fucked, you cant claim it.

  2. I would rather get a replacement. Not a manufacturing defect to let go. If someone unknown to this defect is using it, it can cause serious harm.

  3. Just return it within the return window and get a replacement or your money back..

  4. Depending on when you bought it, you have always 14 days return policy, no questions asked. So I would return it if this is the case and order a new one.

  5. > I cannot do any other warranty claim

    There is no such thing.

  6. Send it back for a full refund. Sounds like they trying to treat you like an idiot.

  7. How is the placing of the other hob markings? Are their heating elements centered correctly? Also you seem to have a touch panel – is the placement of those elements correctly aligned with the markings?

If the off center placement of the lower left hob is the only problem I’d personally consider taking the 50 € but get in writing tht this doesn’t effect the general warranty for the hob (because an optic problem shouldn’t effect it at all).

The only thing you’ll have to consider in the future is to place your pots on the heating circles and not on the markings in the glass. Other than that it should not effect the functionality of the hob.
