  1. such a shame that we ask officials to 'swear' on a book that is as much fiction as Harry Potter, haven't we moved on from the idea of having a imaginary friend as ruler of our conscience

  2. Well done sir, another MP replacing one of the many Tories to fall by the wayside last Thursday. This is the man whom some Tories accused of not being as blind as he made out to be, which was disgraceful. It shows you how desperate and low the Tories were, resorting to telling out and out lies to destroy the integrity of Mr Darling. Shame on you Tories, the real shame here is there are still 121 of you left in Parliament, that's 121 too many for most people.

  3. A very respectable & nice MP for Torbay. Shame he is blind & relies on a guide dog.
Nice to hear the chimes of Big Ben towards the end of the video, thank you for uploading.

  4. its strange reading the comments here, this isn't anything new or indeed news worthy at least no more newsworthy than the several hundred other new MP's going through the same process. clickbait packaged for the twitter age i suspect.

  5. I remember David Blunkett talking about his early days in politics when his guide dog had to get used to going in and out of gates to deliver leaflets or canvass. It took him hours to get home when he had finished because the dog insisted on taking him to every front door they passed in the way back.

  6. "Would you like to swear or affirm?:
In my mind: "Swear but that type of language isn't allowed in this chamber 😛"

  7. There are often two dogs in Parliament. Steve Darling's guide dog, and Angela Rayner who is the service dog of Kier Starmer
