For more context, my grandfather painted this, and he always only painted real places that he’d been to in person, so I know this is an actual building in Berchtesgaden Germany.
My dream is to someday visit, and get a photograph of the exact same building from the same angle.
I’ve tried to do some research of my own, and I think it may be in the vicinity of 47°35’45.0″N 13°00’01.1″E , but I’m not 100% convinced I have the right spot.

It’s the view on the Mountain Watzmann from the west, because the northern peak, the single one, is on the left. That’s my guess.
The mountain is the Watzmann seen from North-East. It looks like the painting shows a view somewhere east of Schapbachalm (which isnt the building, since it is to low in a valley). Sadly I cant find a fitting cabin and there is mostly forest
For a moment this looked exactly like how I remember the lodge and the background looking at a ski resort I went to in Süd Tirol.
Maybe a idea could be to mail the town hall of Berchtesgarden with your question. I could see a chance that they know the location because they are familiar with the area.
I live 10min away from Berchtesgaden, will check it out tomorrow
