Kamala Harris will continue Biden’s climate policies, say experts. But is that good enough?

  1. When the opponent’s climate policy is ‘I’ll be a dictator day one, drill baby drill’, yes it’s good enough.

  2. The climate isn’t going to be “wowwed” by nibbling around the edges. The only thing that matters is global emissions, which continue to skyrocket.

The quotes from Peter Kalmus are what counts:

The so-called Inflation Reduction Act has “some good stuff” but it was no better than “a tap on the brakes”.

“Biden’s overarching legacy will likely end up being this: He accelerated global heating by expanding fossil fuels.”

So yes, I expect Kamala Harris will continue Biden’s climate policies as well.

  3. If… we get more seats in the house and senate… she will definitely do more

I hope at the very least she pushes her authority as far as she can to make a difference.

  4. So is it perfect no.

But people have to understand government in this case is the match not the fire. The fire is the S curve which is doing great. We have dropped the price of solar and batteries to a level for most areas of the world it is the cheapest form of energy.

But really it’s China and India which will make or break this.change. remember the US is not a big manufacturing center anymore.

China currently uses 2x the power of the US and it is only going to go up and the country modernizes. So the US has been going down slowly for years. Until China and India make their change we are not big enough anymore to be the real difference.

Now an area I think we should work harder on is EVs. Power is basically just a time and interconnect issue. We need to take our vehicles I think for this decade that is the best area for targeting in the US.

At the same time things like farming, construction, materials, etc need to be electrified quicker.

I can say this as someone who is building a multifamily dwelling with heat pumps, AC and car chargers all running on solar and batteries for a profit. So I know.werr good on the tech, price and profitability were just at the install phase.
