Irish juries showing again they do not understand what reasonable doubt is and cannot be instructed on how to understand it during a trial. There was blatantly reasonable doubt in this case. Two in one day with the fella that killed his wife during a psychotic episode.
You can’t keep dragging in morons off the street and let them deal with people’s liberty it doesn’t work. It is too random and too serious to be conducting it this way.
There should be sectors of society that are dedicated to jury duty such as people with third level educations who are unemployed for whatever reason and retired professionals.
They should be given explicit lessons in logic and critical thinking, rhetorical argument and dialectic.
Society shouldn’t just keep quiet while miscarriages of justice are openly taking place like this.
You may think this man is probably guilty but that is not what the courts decide, he is not legally guilty even if you think he is guilty in reality.
“She said she felt she could not leave as he was standing in her way and decided to show him a photograph of herself in a bikini to satisfy him so she could get away but said after this she was sexually assaulted twice more.”

I think the jury made the right decision here. His defence is like a script from a badly acted porn movie. This woman comes down to get her car released, but she’s so infatuated by this man that she ends up consenting to sex with him.

He alleged the woman then followed him upstairs and masturbated him in a shower room, while facing away from him at his direction because it was during the Covid pandemic.”*
Hence where the expression “ big Garda head” on someone comes from
