  1. Having not been paying attention to any of this I find myself wondering WHO THE FUCK THESE PEOPLE ARE?

Some fat lady as Jesus and some random Redhead as Mary Magdelene?

    This timeline is weird.

Not religious in any fashion, just taken aback.

  2. The quantity and poses do not match. These are just people near the podium 😅

  3. The eldest daughter of the church has really fallen to darkness.

  4. I said the exact same thing when watching yesterday 😂

  5. “I’d like a table for 26 guests, please.”

    “But you are only 13…”

“Yes, but we’ll all be sitting on one side of the table.”

  6. She eats everyday as if that is the last supper.

  7. Was this a special gay/drag event, or are we Europeans supposed to be gay. Why is all this gayness shoved down our throats?

  8. Can’t wait for some sharp Charlie Hebdo satire in the closing ceremonies … surely all religions are fair game for ‘artistic’ reinterpretation.

  9. Yeah, shit on the religion that formed this continent for the better part of the last 2 millenia, we will get over it…. But this is outright disrespectful towards religious people. Something they must not have had thought about when planning this all inclusive dragshow. Imagine if they did something similar with a muslim or jewish symbol

  10. is this freedom of arts or can we throw it in the bin?

  11. Can’t see the kangaroo, and there is only one Jesus?

  12. As a religious person I don’t like it.

Glad to see that non-religious people also don’t.

Edit: I meant SOME non-religious people IN THIS THREAD. Apparently this wasn’t clear to some people from the context.

  13. im not religious person at all. but for me ,someohow ,this comes as some sick joke that shouldnt be tolerated. keep religion and politics out of sports.

  14. It’s just needlessly provocative & insensitive & absolutely nothing to do with sport or the Olympics.

They wouldn’t parody Islam or any other culture or religion….why do this ?

The usual self culture haters in the arts

  15. WTF was that shit? This isn’t art nor culture. I can’t take this gay agenda anymore. Absolutely vile and disgusting. Shame on you France. SHAME on you.

  16. I think it’s just the angle. They don’t look like their posing for something and that may be just a podium.

  17. Nothing represents French culture better than drag queens ruining Italian painting.

  18. The perfect representation of the body of an athlete… oh wait!

  19. An extremely inclusive opening ceremony. But I don’t understand why they excluded Christians.

  20. And yet people come and say, “Why is there so much hatred?” What I see here, being completely impartial, is that people from the upper echelons of society want to “make waves” every time. “Divide and conquer,” as the saying goes… now it’s live.

They could have chosen any other artistic moment. Something related to the games or they could have promoted a neutral message of equality, encouraging love and respect.

But no. People chose to “insult” a religion and thus provoke the fanatics to even more violence.
