Looks like a shitty Halloween costume and it’s going to look 10 times worse on a fat Garda on a hot day. There’s a reason most forces go with the darker blues.
They are fucking awful. Absolutely the ugliest of designs. Dunnes has a better looking line. Wtf?!
Should have been a darker colour perhaps, but it’s definitely a move in the right direction. Having Gardai wearing what was practically a suit in their day to day activities was laughable.

Remove the tactical gear and they look about the same. I bet the lad on left can heft a square bail twice the distance
The PSNI also got a new uniform, to model it they had two fit looking coppers showing it off. Which is…not what has happened here.
That looks horrid
Just something about a rugged man covered in tactical gear and weapons in a confident stance does something to you. The soft, unassuming figure of the PE uniformed man with his wee belt doesn’t inspire the same reaction however it could have been achieved! Ireland deserves sexy cops.

Unless they change the shoes that state on the box that they’re not to be worn while walking long periods of time, uniform will only slightly increase mobility. The boots are a massive hindrance
Those are some unusually long sleeves. Looks like something you’d panic buy on Oct 31st for a party that evening
That polo is gonna do serious damage in Coppers, absolute piping gear
That new uniform is horrific and cheap looking. This is why design and good designers do matter! I would love to know who designed that crap and who made decision to approve

The new uniform is shit but can we all just appreciate the fact that our police force doesn’t carry send me automatic weapons.
Note the original reason for this was because the government thought that the garden would attempted coup in the early years of the free State and also guns are expensive.
