Oh the Russian government, what progressive and honourable bunch of chimpanzees…… (apologizes to chimpanzees for the insult)
There is one unpleasant complication in the history of the “witch hunt” along ethnic lines.
You have confused Russia with the USSR. Russians are actually extremely vindictive people with very good memories. And there are no more political officers with their slobbery ideas about the brotherhood of the working class, for the sake of which evil must be forgotten and forgiven. As well as the people who will listen to them.
You will have to pay for a very long time later for the indecency that you have staged with the hunt for Russian spies. It is to pay. You can’t spread repentance on bread. Therefore, we will not give a damn about the words that “you were deceived”, “you did not know” or “you have children”.
Makes you wonder how many sabotage operations like this Russia still has planned.
Looks like the Olympics are facing more than just sporting challenges this year. Here’s hoping that increased security measures can keep the games as focused on athleticism and unity as they should be.
I will never understand why we even let them compete in the olympics after all that they have done.
Just to clear things up: Russia has been trying to mess with big prestigious events in Europe even before the war in Ukraine. They were sending special ops dressed as football fans to beat up drunk Englishmen during Euro 2016 games for example.
This isn’t new. Russian FSB plans all sorts of disruption campaigns and the western intelligence agencies are usually well informed about said plans, because Russian intelligence has more holes than the Russian black Sea fleet.
The only difference here is that the French are boosting about foiling Russia’s disruption campaigns. That’s it really.
If Russia attacks the civilian infrastructure of France as it hosts the world, does that mean that Russian civilian infrastructure is fair game as well?
When will the world understand that the Russians will slit your throat when you’re like “they aren’t all bad”.
