When people ask “how did America get here?”, this is how. By accepting spineless cretins as legitimate actors in the political sphere. Lust for power is their only goal. And they don’t bother hiding it anymore. Showmanship,hyperbole, and cult of personality have replaced fortitude, conviction, and strength of character. The people need to reject it before anything will get better.

If it were me, I would’ve just been content with being an Ivy League educated lawyer making the big bucks. When I was a young girl growing up in a cult—yes, for real—there was a story called “the loaf of bread“.
I don’t know where the story came from, but I have a feeling it came from the religious youth of the cult leader, so it’s probably a well-known Christian story.
The idea is that a Christian woman was hungry and praying out loud in her yard for bread when she suddenly got hit on the head with a loaf of bread.
What happened was her atheist neighbor who hates her praying threw bread over the fence at her to shut her up.
The moral is “thank God for the bread, even if the devil had to bring it“.
I think that’s what all of these Christians are doing with Trump. Well, some of them, at least. They’re using him as a way to get what they want out of America, to take us back to a time before certain rights. JD Vance and his wife are proponents of that crazy plan, and Trump gives them a way to do it. I think they just decided to support him because of that.

She stands up at the convention while folks with signs saying “Send them back” and “mass deportations now” are in front of her and she shucks this shiite like she’s not a brown person, let alone a compassionate human being.
