I received an email from a recruitment company (Randstad.de) that ask for my residence permit to verify if i have a working permit in Germany. Here is the mail:

To be eligible to work as a freelancer in Germany, you'll need a residence permit for self-employment in accordance with Section 21 (5) on the Residence Act – AufenthG. (More information on this subject can be found here: https://www.make-it-in-germany.com/en/visa-residence).

If you do have a valid residence permit to work as a freelancer in Germany, then please send us a copy or scan via e-mail within the next two weeks, otherwise your freelancer profile in our freelancer database will be deleted without any further notice.

Some other companies also asked for it before to verify my working permition. Is it safe to send my ID to companies? should i hide some parts on it?

I have "Erwerbstätigkeit erlaubt" written in the "1. Anmerkungen/Remarks" field and i am currently going though the process of application to permanent residency permit.
