  1. That cracked tower is so cool, and the big ol’ barrel in the castle’s basement was something else. A very nice city indeed.

  2. It’s such a beautiful city. I have friends in Heidelberg, I love visiting.

  3. City got damn lucky it wasn’t bombed in WW2, like Mannheim. The mayor thankfully surrendered barely early enough. Half of the bridge in the picture still got blown up by the defenders.

  4. The style of bridge and the castle above it remind me of Prague. I love how you can just feel the history in this pic.

  5. Multiple car lanes right by the waterfront. Such a sad use of land.

  6. Love Heidelberg. First visited as a 16yr old touring Germany on a soccer exchange. Lucky to visit again several times whilst living in the Netherlands.

  8. Fun fact: Heidelberg is the most female city in Germany with 81 men per 100 women. (A bit further south we have one of the most male cities in Germany, namely Karlsruhe).
