They are reportedly working on a Trumb AI that is trained on his specific brand of rhetoric and his trash policies to debate Harris if he drops out. Early reports are that the patterning of Trumbist rhetoric is hilarious when reproduced by an AI, and completely revolting. In this case, imitation is the sincerest form of mockery.

I am all for a Kamala vs the empty podium power hour, BUT if they debate he will lose. If it is just Kamala, a lot of people won’t watch.
The American people need to be enticed to watch it like we were with Trump v Biden and I think any swing voters who truly still remain will be persuaded to be on the right side of history.

Why not. After all, if the opponent is missing, an empty chair seems to serve just as well.
The real danger for Kamala, if Trump does show, is if she tries to handle things like a traditional debate.
Trump won’t prepare. He is just going to ramble and make things up. If she goes on the defensive to fact check him, she loses.
Instead, she should leave his fictions unacknowledged, and use her prosecutor’s experience to use key words and phrases to trigger him and put him on the defensive. Bonus points if she gets him to use the n-word live.

In 1980, Jimmy Carter declined a debate because John Anderson was invited. The debate was held with just Reagan and Anderson. No reason Harris can’t have the floor to herself if Trump doesn’t show up.
Keep it scheduled and make it a campaign speech/open forum when he doesn’t show up.

If a candidate refuses to show up, the event should go on without them. Harris would get a solid 1-2 hours to speak directly to voters.

Trump already agreed to debate Biden, the PRESUMPTIVE Democrat Nominee, on September 10th. The whole excuse of: “well, we can’t agree to debate Harris since the DNC could just decide to change their candidate again…” is bullshit. Trump already debated Biden, BEFORE he was made the OFFICIAL Democrat Nominee; so they made an assumption and already wasted a debate on someone the DNC could and did drop as a nominee before their Convention deadline. What’s funny is that Biden’s performance during that debate is seen as the prime reason for dropping him and putting Harris up to bat…so Trump is partly to blame for his current predicament, where’s he’s now scared of his new opponent.
The ABC debate is scheduled for September 10, the Democratic National Convention is Aug 19-22…meaning the OFFICIAL Nominee will be finalized almost three weeks before the scheduled debate. So it’s a bullshit excuse.
