I've got this bathroom ceiling lamp, and it started to flicker. How do I open it to replace the bulb? I don't see any latch or anything to open it.

  1. It might be the one that you simply twist with reasonable force

  2. My first reaction was: “yes, it is.”

Try twisting it gently. The glass dome should detach from the ceiling fixture.

  3. Try twisting it. If not, you might need to jam a screwdriver between the base and the cover, and the cover will pop off.

  4. 1. Twist like you’re opening anything screwable
    2. If it’s not coming loose, twist and wiggle/pull downwards, see if it seems looser anywhere else, maybe there’s little notches it attaches to (like a smoke alarm). Press the plastic part inwards if you’re able to and see if there’s room to then take it down.
    3. ???

If you live in a kerrostalo, you can call the huoltoyhtiö and say you don’t know how to take it down, you tried, it flickers and the bulb needs to be changed. They may either advise you or come round to change it.

It could be really finicky, you never know with these plafonds. Good luck.
