The Olympics is a place to promote peace, unity and friendship. One world, one dream.
80% of the world population hold more conservative views compared to EU + Anglo regions. As much as I support all equal rights movements, I am not sure if this was the right way to communicate our ideals to the rest of the world. Understandings are built on common grounds, not provocation and mockery.
To me this seemed more like a virtue signaling show to certain interest groups than anything the Olympics were supposed to represent.

I thought the opening was boring, but not this segment. It was very odd that some of the segments had zero people, like when they were passing the torch in front of the Louvre and the part where the balloon went into the air. Everything just looked so dead and boring.
I respect them for giving it a shot and doing it in the Saine, but it’s just so much worse than a stadium, everything was spread out and chaotic. London intro was 10x better.
