I will do almost anything to keep my Yiayia’s antique Singer sewing machine that’s over 100 years old (belonged to her mother who was also a seamstress). She is selling her house in Porto Rafti and needs it gone. I live in New York City. I would be so grateful if someone could advise me with the logistics of getting this cherished heirloom overseas.
What shipping service should I use? Are they able to pack it properly? The machine is about 74cm wide, 42cm long, and about 38.5vm tall inches tall. Please let me know if any more details are helpful.

Forgot to say I’m pretty sure it can be disassembled to some degree
Before contacting any courier, disassemble the unit and package it using plenty of protective material (eg, bubble wrap, styrofoam, etc), so that you have a final idea of the dimensions and weight.
Then you contact every courier and ask for prices with insurance, including in them.
For expensive items, you may place them in wooden crates, to protect them up to a point from impact damage.
Choose the one you feel is safer and better.
I just moved five antique treadle sewing machines (and the rest of my American furniture and household things) to Crete using Allied. It was an excellent experience. Check them out and if you need more info DM me.
