    Yesterday I was in a conservative coffee shop. The guys behind me in line couldn’t stop talking about how disappointed they are in Trump. They never realized he was almost 80 because they thought only Biden was old. They said that Trump didn’t share the same values as they did for their age. One of them finally said they were going to vote for Harris and the other three finally agreed.

    It’s becoming clear the Democrats have benefited from moving away from a candidate that reflects natural cognitive decline and no party should let a person with such a status remain at top of ballot.

    Mind you, Biden still had the clarity and courage to step away maybe Trump doesn’t have that capacity.

  22. In my opinion Conservatives have been very aggressive in recent years and it has suppressed the general political enthusiasm of lay political observers.

    The average person doesn’t follow politics closely. If making a comment about politics ends with a foaming at the mouth Conservative flipping out it is best to keep quiet.

    As a result a lot of feelings have been suppressed. The emotion and historic events of Biden stepping down and Harris stepping up has people speaking up.

    People know that a future with Trump is miserable and dark. They want something positive to cheer for and Harris is giving it to them.

  29. I tuned into one of his rallies last night in Fox, was hoping to hear more about the late great Hannibal Lector, but man, the whole shtick is the same. Over and over he says, “They are very bad people, they want to do bad things, they’re doing bad things, but not me, I am perfect, but they’re mean to me, probably because they’re jealous, you love me, more than anyone probably, I took a bullet for democracy, but they want to flood us with murderers and rapists, look at how big this crowd is, they don’t want you to believe it’s a big crowd, but look around, there’s hundreds of thousands of you here, so beautiful, but they don’t like it, they’re bad, very bad, so vote for me, you’ve gotta just vote, because I want it, it you don’t, they tear down this country, sad.” He’s weird man, like ask the server if I can sit at a table further away from his kinda weird.

  34. The GOP once had intelligent diabolical motherfuckers who could take something like John Kerry’s war service and turn it into a liability. When they went with Trump they chased those people out and are just stuck with the trash who couldn’t even get in the room before. Which is why we have “DEI”, Kamala had sex when she was younger, and she laughs when she thinks something is funny. This is all they have left after the Trump instigated brain drain of strategists who weren’t losers.

  35. As a Brit watching this horror show… I really don’t think US liberals have grasped the Clinton defeat.

    The sexism that exists in the U.K. is massive. Yet dwarfed by US sexism. Harris hasn’t got a hope in hell. In my view. For the same reason Clinton didn’t.

  36. It’s almost a little sad and cringey to watch, though that’s pretty much the norm for Trump. I suppose the Harris campaign will do some internal polling to see if people, particularly elderly voters, start to feel bad for Trump which will force Harris to dial it back a bit. That’s ok, I’m willing to pick up the slack.
