So treason? Depends on the perspective.

I just thought it was tacky tbh! Some parts of it were cool, some were not. I’ve been watching Olympics since Beijing and this one was my least favourite. I think it was trying too hard to be cool and different and it just ended up beign kind of annoying and pretentious.
I don’t think you can argue that the drag catwalk didn’t evoke the last supper though. It’s one of the most famous paintings ever and instantly recognisable, I can’t believe that no set designer or choreographer looked at the layout during planning (the mise en scene if you will) or rehearsals and didn’t think ‘oh damn that looks like the last supper or however you say that in filthy frog language. I think people are overreacting to it a fair bit but to say ‘it’s not the last supper it’s bachannalia’ is silly because it can be two things. There can be two references.
