Oh Brussels… 199 days

  1. Weird how such a small area gets so much more rain than its surrounding countries, you’d think the Gods are trying to tell us something

  2. To be honest, my first reaction was to be happy to see that we are indeed more legitimate than the UK when we say belgian weather = rain

  3. It always baffles me we are the worst in every list possible on the internet. Seems kind of sus tbh

  4. There is no way Brussels is rainier than Manchester. Nor is there any way Manchester only has 143 days of precipitation per year.

  5. Nah. I don’t believe it. They’re mixing definitions of “day of precipitation” instead of comparing apples with apples.

Brussels must be close to Amsterdam. It just doesn’t make sense that it would be so far from neighbouring cities. Just checking the Wikipedia page I see 135 days ([here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brussels#Climate)) and a report from the Meteorological Institute of Belgium with data from 1991-2020 ([here](https://www.meteo.be/resources/climatology/climateCity/pdf/climate_INS21004_9120_nl.pdf)) says 130 days. I don’t know where the 199 days comes from, but it must follow a different definition to measure precipitation or comes from untrustworthy source.

Another weird thing is that it includes Almeria as a “mayor city”, but not Seville or even Valencia? Nah. Not a great source. I love me a fun map, but this one has too many issues imo.
