>Analysis by the Institute of Fiscal Studies earlier this year found that funding for students per year of study has fallen by 19 per cent in real terms since 2013–14.
that means what they used to spend on 4 students is effectively having to cover 5
Another question is why the push to University, when trades are desperately needed – they’re far far too many rogue / shody trades out there (why does stuff like checkatrade exist?) as the workers are in short supply
I wouldnt go to uni now if i was a school leaver and had the choice. Unless it’s a vocational route and you need to do it, like doctor, there really is no need.
When universities stop sending dozens of their staff business class across the world to their satellite campuses for 4-day graduation ceremonies (at £5,000 a pop each), then they could maybe start to cry bankruptcy?
Huge amount of waste in what are essential public institutions with alumni donations tacked on, and poor oversight.
