Pete is a stud.
I hope he gets an elevated position in the administration. Secretary of State maybe, not sure. But something much more high profile.
I’d have picked him over both Kamala and Joe in 2020.
I wish pete had been the nominee. incredibly well spoken and better moderate than Joey.
I expect to see him continue in politics as time goes along. I wouldn’t be surprised if he runs in 2028 should Kamala fall short.

It’s impossible not to like this man.
I cannot EVER remember a time in American politics when the popular discourse across outlets was Democrat after Democrat going on TV and just kicking ass. It’s surreal.
I’m glad the Dems have finally decided to take the gloves off and start calling MAGA and the GOP what they are- a cult. Any sensibile American can see this at this point. This country is over if Trump wins in November.
That guy is just next level. That is an absolute masterclass.
If Pete ever runs for President, he absolutely has my vote.
This is why I say Kamala should debate Rrump on Fox. It can be done.
I hope Harris’s campaign leans on Buttigieg. He may be the voice of a better, more tolerant and forgiving future America just as Harris is today.
I heard Pete on NPR this morning. He is incredibly proficient at pacing his voice patterns to make sentences flow smoothly into each other, getting his points across calmly while making it very difficult to interrupt him. He is definitely one of the sharpest minds in politics.
What is sad is that con positions are such obvious lies that his performance is notable. Why aren’t cons and right wing media destroyed regularly?
“However, research has indicated that immigrants commit less crimes than U.S.-born people.”
Racist white people need to fucking learn.
Buttigieg has always been a ridiculously good speaker and interviewee, especially at answering extemporaneously and avoiding ‘canned’ lines.
He’s been really dazzling lately. I love him for VP, but I love Mark Kelly too. It’s just an embarassment of riches.
Remember Biden put smart, competent people in his cabinet. Trump our friends and family with no expertise
The thing that’s wild is that every interview, every debate should be like this. We should expect this level of competence from our leaders, but we haven’t had it for so long that it’s now considered “magic.”
Good on Mayor Pete tho, for bringing it.
“Trump is older and weirder that when we first got to know him.” Brilliant. She couldn’t wait for that to be over. He probably won’t be invited back.
can we clone him and just let him be the whole cabinet?
He is fantastic. He’s calm….. he’s articulate.
If Kamala’s campaign and the Biden administration/cabinet can keep this up for the next 3 months…… I haven’t been this hopeful in a long, long time.
Damn I love his calm demeanor and smooth speaking. The right loves trying to get people riled up and then shouting “See!! They are unhinged!!” And he just does not give in. He doesn’t let up.
And he frames every argument quickly and concisely to get the maximum effect in a short time. The host looks like an absolute mad woman trying to scramble to get in some conservative talking point and he just moves through it expertly.
Happy to see these comments. Watching this morning I was a little in disbelief how the interviewer consistently tried to interrupt and defend while receiving answers she didn’t like while Pete completed his thoughts over her interruptions whilst also addressing and counter arguing the interuptions at the same time. It was impressive.
Pete. Pete. Pete.
If the choice for VP was based on who would do the best job of :
1) debating Vance; and
2) advocating for what democrats have done and will do
There is no question on my mind that Pete would be far better than any of the other candidates.
The only significant reason not to IMO is kind of a reverse DEI – is the nation ready for a gay VP?
When the hell did Democrats grow a spine and start playing fire with fire??? Lmaooo what the hell is this timeline but enjoying it cause this was much needed
Thank you! It took 40 years but the dems are taking the gloves off and swinging!!!!
Love to see it.
Fuck the GOP.
Fuck the Christian Nationalists.
They should all move to Israel.
I don’t understand why Fox keeps having Pete on. He eviserates their arguments so clearly, so precisely effectively it’s gotta becembarrassing for the hosts.
I love Pete and would like to see him as President one day. However I hope they don’t throw him on this ticket for VP. I don’t think this country is ready for a Woman/ Gay man ticket yet unfortunately, and we can risk losing this election.
It makes me giddy as an almost 30 year old American that we are finally starting to circle the wagons and fight back. We don’t have to let Trump walk all over us. We can hold him accountable.
>Buttigieg, who has emerged as a top choice to be Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate
Since when? I’ve heard Shapiro (not Ben lol) and Mark Kelly but not Pete.
This is Pete perfectly in his element, and where his skills from his McKinsey days really shine. Oddly, it’s because of this specifically that I *don’t* want him in the White House. I want him out there on the talk show circuit every day running circles around pundits, making the conservative talking points look s stupid as we all know they are, and generally doing the job that the press should be doing but won’t. There really aren’t too many people out there who can do that so well.
Democrats desperately need someone out there as the articulate voice of reason, and Presidency really doesn’t allow for the kind of freedom Pete currently has to go out there and do that.
Democrats have a DEEP bench, and Pete’s open-mindedness and honesty oughta land him as Secretary of State or something. Check this out:
“From his interview on The Daily (NYT) yesterday:
NYT: You also go to Fox News and I am wondering why you do that.
Pete: Well, the reason I think it’s so important to take the message there is because I know that there are so many people who tune in in good faith. So I as a political figure, can hardly blame a voter for not being responsive to our message if they literally have never heard it. And we were in a very fragmented environment. Honestly, we were lucky if we can get to somebody through TV versus just even more fragmented internet sources. And I know that if I’m on that network, I’m one of relatively few voices with our message. And so if I didn’t go there to give that message, somebody might literally never hear it. I also know that you cannot assume who somebody is or how they’re gonna vote just based on what network they watch. There’s a lot of people who can be moved and sometimes the person who picked the channel is not the same as the other person who’s also in the house who’s listening to what’s being said. And so I think there’s a responsibility to take this message into those spaces. Sometimes when you explain what you believe to somebody, even if they don’t completely agree with you, they respect you more and, and are are inclined to maybe trust you and, and give you the benefit of the doubt. So that’s why I’m there.”
