Hi!

I want to visit the Rosenlaui waterfall but after seeing the road on Google maps, I think it's for the best if I use the Post Bus.

However I can't figure out how it works. First bold name is Departure and 2nd bold name is arrival right ?

For example I can take the bus at 11:20 at Meiringen Bahnhof to Rosenlaui and then at 16:18 to go back to Meiringen correct ?

Thank you

  1. You look for the station you want to get onboard and the direction you’re going and that tells you when you need to be there.

It also gives you the time the bus will be at any stations of the line.

  2. The names in bold font are the first and the last stop. You’ve got all the intermediate stops in between. The times show you exactly when you’ll be at which stop coming from which tour of the bus.

  3. > First bold name is Departure and 2nd bold name is arrival right ?

Correct, the first is the start of the line, and the last is the Destination of the line.

You can also look up the public transport schedule at [www.sbb.ch](http://www.sbb.ch) Even with transfers and all there is.

  4. >How to understand Post Bus schedule?

By throwing that thing away and installing the SBB Mobile app or useing [sbb.ch](http://sbb.ch/en). Seriously, using the app (or website) is a much, much better experience than trying to understand this paper timetable. I have come across a fare share of timetable apps while traveling across europe by public transport and the one we have here in Switzerland is still by far the best, imo, so it would be a shame to note use it.

But if you really are comitted to using that ancient piece of timetable, see here:

    >First bold name is Departure and 2nd bold name is arrival right ?

Kinda yeah. The 2nd bold name is the final destination and the not bold names in between are intermdiate stops which are driven to from top to bottom. So if Meiringen is the departure station the firrst stop is Geissholz, then Zwirrgi, etc. until Schwazwaldalp

    >For example I can take the bus at 11:20 at Meiringen Bahnhof to Rosenlaui and then at 16:18 to go back to Meiringen correct ?

Yes you can. But when eading the timetable you have to be careful. The top line is for spring and fall only, during summer you have to look at the 2nd and 3rd line of schedules.

  5. It’s quite straight forward, but I’d also recommend using the mobile app or website.
