Scientists make ‘incredibly worrying’ discovery after observing pattern in one of Earth’s largest ice fields: ‘We risk irreversible, complete removal of them’

1. We need to talk more about mitigation, we are far beyond preventation.

Here in the PNW, people are starting to wonder why they named it *Glacier Peak*.  Some rock became visible a few years ago on Rainier that I had never seen before, now it’s bare every year by mid summer.  There are a lot of empty basins here that held glaciers until so recently that plants still haven’t moved in. 

   It was in the news last year that it *rained* on the highest point in Greenland. 

   We’re losing our ice all over the planet, with devastating outcomes.
