Cotton then took aim at President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after Biden suddenly exited the race and endorsed her last Sunday.
“For four years, things were good with President Trump. We had stable prices, a growing economy and peace and stability around the world. Under Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, everything has gone to hell. And it will be much worse under Kamala Harris,” the senator said.
[Senator Tom Cotton]
Google what was happening on today’s date in 2020.
Everyone should be concerned about that comment.
RedHat: “I like Trump because he tells it like it is.”
Also RedHat: “That’s not what he meant.”
Everything is either a joke or sarcasm…until it isn’t. Nope, enough already.
Republicans: Trump says what he means and means what he says.
Also Republicans: Trump didn’t mean that.
Lindsey Graham literally laughed about it today on Face the Nation. Like it’s a joke.
I was wondering how “The Injustice Gang.” Would explain this.
If trump wins there will be concentration camps by this time next year and there will never be another election… just like Germany in the 1930s. Vote Blue is all we can do
Senile convicted serial liar who is liable for sexual assault, fraud. Recent released ties to Epstein admitted pedophile. Cheated college kids. Charities fraud. Bankruptcy galore. Only interested in helping himself. Oldest candidate. 40 out of 44 of his former cabinet members refused to endorse him saying he is unfit to run. He should drop out of race
Given that Fascism is their wet dream, they are all going to deny that what he said is what he said.
Trump should follow Biden’s example and withdraw from the race.
At a point, those that support Trump really has to consider that he is either:
1: Completely incapable of communicating basic, rudimentary policies and ideas for what his future government will look like, requiring several post-speech interpreters to make sense of what he is saying.
Or
2: He is actually saying exactly what he means to say, and will become an authoritarian dictator from and on day 1 of his presidency.
There is really no middle ground or nuance there. Option 1 makes him unfit to govern the only true superpower on earth, and option 2 makes him VERY unfit to govern the only true superpower on earth.
He tried to overthrow the government. Nobody told the Republicans? They’re now somehow surprised that he wants to be king? Get real America!
The least bad thing it could have meant is he knows he won’t be running and therefore doesn’t care who gets elected. Because he doesn’t care about the country, only whether he wins.
I had to see what rationalizing they were doing on r/conservative, they’re saying that Christians apparently just don’t vote (?) and Trump is saying that if they’ll vote this one time he’ll “fix” everything wrong with this country and they’ll never need to vote again. That’s fucking wild to me.
They told him, “Stand back, and stand by. We love you, you’re very special.”
Can we confront him about what he did for 187 minutes on January 6th? I really want to hear the lame obviously false shit he comes up with.
He says what he means. He jokes what he means. His deflections and projections are what he means to do. There’s 78 years of precedent. Take all things he’s says completely serious.
Project 2025 is very real.
Trump will turn the USA into a dictatorship.
And once it’s all set and done, they will legalize rape by ‘straight’ white male.
I absolutely LOVE seeing Republicans on the defensive, having to defend their dottering old-man. It’s glorious.
He will never leave office willingly if he gets back in. Not only because he craves power and the ability to monetize the office but because he’s had a small taste of what justice feels like and he knows that he’ll eventually face the full extent of it if he doesn’t have the shield of the Presidency protecting him.
If he loses the election, I fully expect him to immediately file papers to run again so he can once again claim that he is being prosecuted by the Democrats and get some measure of leniency from the courts.
“Infidelity does not consist in believing, or in disbelieving; it consists in professing to believe what he does not believe. It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind, as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe, he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime.”
– Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason
He’s a dangerous, old, weird entitled brat.
Even Putin allows the appearance of elections. Trump isn’t even hiding the fact that he despises democracy because it’s the one thing keeping him from power.
“That’s not what he meant”… r/Conservative
It’s one thing if a private citizen says dumb shit.
But words matter for those in the office and those running for office. It matters when your decisions affect people’s lives domestic and foreign.
No one should have to decipher what he means by it.
Take it literally. If he complains that people are interpreting it incorrectly, he needs to learn to speak clearly. His fault not anyone else’s.
It’s amazing how scared republicans are of him and his base.
CONFRONTED??? Graham, Cotton, and Sununu were asked a single question on 3 different Sunday shows. They all laughed and said Trump was joking. There were ZERO follow up questions. I fucking hate the media so much holy shit.
All Republicans support exactly what Trump wants.
I was happy to see Sununu reassure america a year back that no way Trump would be the nominee and threw everything behind Haley. Complete 180. What a smug prick.
Let’s imagine someone filling out a job application to work at the Circle K down the hill from my house… Probably a question on the application about criminal history which gets filled out like this:
* Convicted on 34 felony counts for financial fraud
* Convicted in sexual assault civil case
* At least 2 trials pending for more felonies
* $500M in civil judgements pending appeal
* 4 major bankruptcies
Would any employer hire someone with this record for a minimum wage clerk job?
Why would we ‘hire’ him to manage our finances and represent us to the rest of the planet?
Madame President Kamala Harris 🇺🇸
“He was joking”
Are you tired of being gaslighted by these motherfuckers?
