Today I bought a scooter and the guy only gave me these papers with the scooter and said this is all you need here to ride them.
Before I read that you don’t even need Kaufvertrag for these, unlike with cars, and you don’t even need to register them anywhere, and the only thing you need is to have Versicherung. So I believed him and bought it.
It has the VIN and some other info, but is it truly enough to own them without a problem? He said I don’t even have to make new insurance, its already paid till next year and already has a license plate. And I only have to do that next year. So that isn’t even on my name either. But he said he bought it like this too, and this insurance is still on an other previous owner’s name. He said this is how he and his kid were using it too. And its in the middle of a big city too.
But I am a little stressed now because another ad popped up with the same scooter and in the pictures that had one with another official paper too. Which said “Betriebserlaubnis”
So basically now I am f*cked without this? If its a big problem, then what am I supposed to do? Maybe I can take it back to him and ask the money back, but what if he doesn’t want to cooperate?
Btw it is a 50ccm bike scooter, not those small electric standing scooters.
