  7. What’s weird about a geriatric convicted felon, adjudicated rapist, fraud and frequent flier of Epstein’s Child Rape Express Jet who thinks Hannibal Lecter is a real person who voted for him, can’t seem to speak in whole sentences and often can’t pronounce simple words?

    These things are very normal in cases of late-stage dementia.

  12. I’ve been saying it for a long time, so it’s nice to see party messaging come into alignment. MAGA cultism is indeed a really strange culture, prurient yet prudish, lockstep yet lost, the most self-assured flailing one could conceive.

    And at the top of this cult are the weirdest people of all. Trump eats well-done steak with ketchup. He wears lifts and cakes his face in makeup. He rarely laughs, and only at the expense of others. His biggest pre-POTUS claim to fame was being a reality TV show host. His hair has been a running joke for his entire life, and yet he’s never thought, “maybe I could just do something different.”

    Vance is a weird fuck, too, but I’m only now familiarizing myself with him. All I know about him is that he denigrates Appalachia while trying to claim it as his heritage, he hates women having rights, and he is related to a refrigeration company.

  15. I wasn’t sure about this messaging at first, but it has grown on me. At first I thought it would minimize his words and actions… make him seem more quirky than dangerous. But the fact is, people who believe Trump is a threat already know how dangerous he is. Independent voters and some of these undecided folks seem to get turned off by the “rhetoric” surrounding the danger of a second Trump term. There are “moderate” people in my life who roll their eyes at Project 2025 and say it would never happen… that Dems are fear-mongering. While we need to keep Project 2025 front and center as much as possible, I do think the “weird” angle has potential to break through to those folks who aren’t as plugged into political news. Paint them as creepy weirdos who want to meddle in your personal decisions (because it’s true), and that could be effective.

  23. I like how calling them “weird” is like a soft-insult that can get under some one’s skin. If you call someone “crazy” you can shrug off such an forceful insult, but to call someone “weird” it’s such a passive-aggressive observation that can really make a narcissist angry and insulted. Ha. Fuck you DonOLD.

    After eight years of Trump and his personality cult, even some conservatives are longing for someone relatively normal.

  34. I think it’s brilliant. The whole he’s a threat to our democracy builds him up
    as something bigger than the country. Highlighting he’s an old creepy weirdo puts him where he belongs 

  35. Objectively… they are. You can see Trump supporters uncomfortable at Trump rallies occasionally from 2015-today. If that dude was in the room at any social party for ANY demographic segment of the population other than a right-wing potluck, his behavior would be stand-out bizarre. He is the king champion of the ‘right wing uncles’ at a family function who won’t stfu about politics.
