  1. Most of South America can partly thank Spain and Portugal for the visa-free travel.

Before Spain joined the EU all these South American and North African citizens could enter Spain without any visa.
Spain could only join the EU if they barred all these Africans/South Americans from entering freely. So they did.
Since then, Spain has kept facilitating South Americans with easier restrictions than other non-EU citizens.
It is countries like Spain and Portugal that have pushed for visa-free travel with South American countries, which only got introduced in 2015.

  2. Why Taiwan is not the same color as China ?
Are they not using the same passport ?

Edit : wtf so many dislikes ? 😀 I’m just asking.

  3. Why almost all latin american countries are visa-exempt while almost all african and asian countries need one? Even South Africa needs a visa!

I want an explanation why the EU is favoring one region of the world over the rest

    I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION

  4. A lot of green and gray dots should actually be light blue, especially in the Caribbean. But also that gray dot near Canada, the other dot near the Comoros islands and also two in the Pacific. One on the Fiji side and the other on the Hawaii side of the map. These are all either French or Dutch territories. They all have freedom of movement within Schengen. They don’t even need a passport to travel to and within the Schengen area, just their French or Dutch ID (edit: this apparently isn’t true for the Dutch territories as they have their own national IDs distinct from Dutch national ID). For many of these territories, especially the ones outside the EU, freedom of movement (without a passport) applies from them to the Schengen area, not from Schengen to them.

  5. So quick question – I am a Ukrainian citizen by birth, but I am currently in America – do I need a visa to, say, visit places like Poland or France for a short stay?

  6. The EU needs to employ a fully reciprocity here, including requiring visas for US citizens because of their policy against Romania and Bulgaria.

I don’t care how do the others justify it on their end. It shouldn’t matter for us.

  7. Funny that the north korea is just gray and not dark gray, I’m now curious about which country allows the transit without visa lol

  8. Is it just me or is there a lighter grey that’s not in the key? Burundi, Channel Islands, Equatorial Guinea
