  2. Hope this is reverse psychology. Not sure it’s good for the Dems to have Trump REALLY replace Vance for someone more competent and palatable to their base.

I think Trump would be wise to replace Vance and choose from the incredibly deep pool of Republican VP candidates: Mike Pence, Sarah Palin, maybe MTG, or Lauren Boebert or even an outsider like Alex Jones. Maybe they could do a different candidate each week the rest of the election, that would be fun.

  6. The headline doesn’t really match what Schumer said.

    Schumer isn’t suggesting that Trump will actually replace JD Vance, he’s saying that he (and Harris, for that matter) only have that amount of time to finalize their choice because that’s when Ohio’s ballots are locked in.

    Schumer is saying JD Vance was a terrible choice and the GOP might be regretting choosing him, but with that Ohio deadline quickly approaching kicking him off the ticket probably isn’t all the feasible.

    Doing so would require getting the GOP electors back together to decide on someone else (and Trump and Co. seem too lazy to do that), Trump isn’t the type of person to admit he made a mistake, and the GOP is struggling to find ways to combat Harris and swapping out Vance would immediately take the “Dems in Disarray” card off the table.

    By the RNC’s own rules, they can only replace the VP spot if there’s a vacancy, so I think Vance himself would need to step down.

  16. IF this was the plan then it’s genius. Get Trump to pick his vp before Biden dropped out. Because they knew he’d pick a vp that will do terrible with women but it didn’t matter as much with Biden still in it. Then have Biden drop out and leave Trump with this flaming pile of excrement that is JD Vance.

    I’m happy Vance is absolutely blowing it for the GOP right now. But this is not what Schumer said at all.

  22. Can he? Vance is on the ticket now. This is literally the situation the right were crying about with Harris “She isn’t on the ticket she can’t run!!” But she wasn’t officially the pick yet. Vance *is* the pick

  24. Dems in disarray? They haven’t been this united in literally years and literally everyone can see it. There are talking points and then there’s just plain “reject the evidence of your eyes and ears”.
