  2. Im finding this so difficult to wrap my head around. Don’t get me wrong, it makes me hopeful, but it’s more than I could have dreamed of.

  4. Just to temper excitement a bit. There were Biden rallies in the Villages in 2020 that gathered hundreds of golf carts together – Trump still won the Villages at about 70% of the vote,

    Kamala’s golf cart rally got hundreds of supporters – Trump’s last rally there got 10,000 attendees.

    We need to remember this is Florida, retired, white and wealthy. Yes there’s some Democrats there who are showing support for Kamala – great. But the overwhelming majority of the Villages will go Republican, and Florida has almost no chance of going blue.

  11. By living in Florida I’d say I’m optimistic about Florida turning blue. It is a long shot but tipping the scale can help down ballot races. From the news reports I’ve seen from the villages which is trump country many of them are registered republicans voting for a democrat for the first time. The insurance crisis in our state that desantis is doing nothing to fix and trumps project 2025 has many voting Kamala Harris for President. The grassroots campaign is growing fast here. I’ve already had volunteers for her campaign stop by my home trying to register voters. Hearing the side conversations on people’s excitement about Kamala while grocery shopping as well. With the housing boom in Florida since the pandemic the republicans maybe surprised by voter turnout from the democrats this election.

  13. While Florida may not turn blue, one reason Biden withdrew was because he was hurting Democrats down the ballot. I’m totally cool with her going to the villages because it’s important that we remember Democrats at every level need to win and if her appearing in places like Florida gets people excited to vote, it may help turn local races even if it doesn’t change the state electoral vote

  14. The RNC might regret spending so much money on Trump’s legal fees. This race is about to get expensive for them.

    And Trump sycophants control the show, so downballot is gonna get fucked hard if Trump does what Trump does and focuses on himself alone.

    Literally any other Republican would have defeated Biden because this is a change election. With Trump it’s a 50/50 proposition

    But with Harris at the top of the ticket and Trump on the other side, the Democrats are the party of change in 2024.

    Harris is probably going to get another bump after the convention and then bank millions of early votes.

  26. I was opposed to Biden dropping out at first, but seeing the results and the rally behind Kamala I am optimistic. Honestly I was concerned about this election before he passed the baton, but now I am pumped! I even donated to her campaign (first time ever).
