[OC] Belgian Taxes Annual gross/net Tags:belgium 3 comments Does this even account for things like the jobbonus and federal workbonus? As soon as you work one hour, they have to pay you 20.000. Government will tax you 6000 on that. I think you forgot the “tax free” part of €8.990 In your calculation: 20.000€ gross First 13.440 is taxed at 25% -> you pay 3.360 Following 6.560 is taxed at 40% -> you pay 2.624 Total €5984 of tax to be paid. However if you take into account the tax free part: €20.000 – €8.990 = €11.010 €11.010 taxed at 25% -> €2.752,5 €20.000 – €2.752,5 = €17.247,5 Which is a big difference. And I suspect something else that is not quite correct. Example with 100K Gross. Not taking the “tax free” part into account: you pay 44.745 in tax. With the tax free part, you pay 40.250 in tax. As soon as you work one hour, they have to pay you 20.000.

In your calculation:
20.000€ gross
First 13.440 is taxed at 25% -> you pay 3.360
Following 6.560 is taxed at 40% -> you pay 2.624
Total €5984 of tax to be paid.

However if you take into account the tax free part:
€20.000 – €8.990 = €11.010
€11.010 taxed at 25% -> €2.752,5
€20.000 – €2.752,5 = €17.247,5
Which is a big difference.
And I suspect something else that is not quite correct.
