The idea of Real Madrid not signing a CB has become stronger after talks last week. Ancelotti has asked for a reinforcement also because of profiles: Militao and Tchouameni (a midfielder) play on the right, and Rudiger feels better there.

  2. I’m baffled. Last season we were in arguably better situation (we had Nacho instead of Vallejo, Alaba could play as LCB and wasn’t coming back from season-long injury like Militao is) and we still had a moment where we had to play with Tchouameni and Carvajal as our CBs.

    And yet instead of improving the position the club is simply accepting that the situation will be even worse next season. I understand we need to be smart with our money and I’m not asking for 100m panic buy. But I really don’t understand why we can’t sign a free agent on a short-term deal.

  3. If last season proved anything it’s that the CB is the most replaceable position in the 11 although with 7 competitions this season I’m not sure it’s wise to have only 2 pure CBs. Poor Carlo always got it the hard way. I wish the club reinforced this position but if they are banking on what happened last season then I hope one of our academy boys steps up in defence and has a revelatory season like Lunin did.

  4. Honestly, we should sell Alaba first. Eder looked terrible after the injury. I hope he gets back in form. Vallejo… oh well. Tbh, no CBs in the world now seem like they are worth it. Maybe Saliba?? There were rumours. At this rate, I’d take Pepe back.

  6. Sign Miguel and convert Mendy into a cb, or sign Laporte, I don’t think the camels would ask for a lot of money.

  7. I would like to see de ligt in madrid jersey. He will be available for not so exorbitant price.

  8. Now I know it worked out for us last season, but I’ve seen similar stubbornness in Klopp not signing a midfilelder or a defender when it was obvious they needed one and it backfired spectacularly

  9. Hermoso is our man. He can be our CB joselu. Cantera, la liga proven, and out of contract at the moment.
