Was finding a bar, found these black, brown-red ish and red dot lines on Google Maps. What is this, exactly?

  1. Cable car. Your post just made me realize for how granted I (/we?) take them.

  2. It’s a cable car station. There’s actually two cable cars there, this is the second one that’s on the very top of the mountain. On one side you can look down on the mountain range “Karwendel” and on the other side you see Innsbruck and the surrounding towns/cities.

  3. A secret austrian nuclear missile Silo, where woodquater firs are pickled in styrian nuclear core oil, awaiting their immediate launch command of the austrian president !

  4. It‘s the last part of Nordkettenbahn going from „Seegrube“ to „Hafelekar“. You can take Hungerburgbahn from the city centre of Innsbruck and then with Nordkettenbahn reaching the top of the mointains in – I think – less than 30 min.
It‘s pretty expensive but worth if you like views.

  5. Top arrow (black line) is Karrinne a ski route, may be tough. Bottom arrow is the ski lift that’ll bring you up there (and down if the ski route is not to your liking). At a certain zoom level you’ll see ski lifts and runs all over Austria. I think same with Switzerland, Italy etc.

  6. You will very quickly realize if youre team “oh fuck we are high up” or team “weeeeee pwetty mountains”

  7. Cable cars and ski slopes🤷🏼‍♂️ who didn’t know tf

  8. The slim grey line is a ski slope. Black grade (steep, difficult). You will also find similar blue (easy) and red (medium) lines.
