I work in IT and this was a total shitshow. I’m calling them Clownstrike for now on. We’re still backed up on our schedules for having to spend so much time picking up the pieces here. They broke two very important rules of IT: 1) don’t release a big update on a Friday, and 2) TEST THE DAMNED UPDATES before you push them out. If they had done the slightest bit of testing, they would have found that it blue screens machines. This is especially crucial when there are so many mission critical and high profile instances at stake.
I am not sure I have ever seen a worse example of a bad update being pushed. Ever.
