>The US has deployed 12 warships to the Middle East amid the rise in tensions between Israel and Lebanon, the Washington Post reported on Thursday, citing a source in the defense establishment.
They’re letting Iran and their friends know that if they attack Israel there will be consequences. We definitely don’t want any of that to happen.
Well that’s great
Between the carrier group and what’s going on in the Red Sea… weren’t 12 already on station? Or is this even more?
Reading the article… it’s the exactly the headline. I even listened to the danged audio and it repeats the headline…
We are waiting for another clown show by iran
Welp. Looks like this is going to escalate further soon.
That sounds like a lot of warships!
I’m not worried about WWIII, but I am worried about a major regional conflict erupting.
At this point, it would make more sense to just leave them there permanently.
Can everyone just chill the fuck out man.
**waahhh waahhh where my healthcare ?**
**wahh wahhh why so much defense budget but so little education budget**

But seriously, can the world calm down a little during the freaking Olympics?
China is looking hard at Taiwan right now.
Don’t touch my boats
This is very important. Letting Iran know that if they make a move, it’s not only Israel who they will be facing, rather that the US will declare war in a second against them.
Iran and it’s terrorist groups are in the finding out stage.
How many people are on a warship? And how big are these warships?
Europe should stay away from this mess.
Quick, someone check dominoes pizza
This is a planned deployment by the way. This isn’t due to anything. Just great timing is all.
A pragmatic and fastidious approach. An embiggened Iran favours nobody.
Oh boy, this means something cooking soon, I hate this world.
Fuck
12 warships… right ..12? To Israel? Little on the nose
Oh god not another war
Oh boy, I’m so ready for the price of petrol and goods to skyrocket as big corps and investors ride the wave of escalating tensions in the Middle East. Hope you’re saving your money, because things are about to get a whole lot more inflated.
Brit here – my daughter’s boyfriend works on helicopter avionics and was deployed last week at very short notice to the Gulf – so I guess it’s a full-on NATO deal.
Here goes nothing…
Well that’s bad cuz middle east is a landmass
This is a normal deployment to relieve the current ships that been on deployment. That started 3 weeks ago…
The full article is literally 2 sentences, talks about its source and doesn’t even provide the full information from the source or a link to the source.
> The aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt is now operating in the Middle East, replacing the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower after the Ike underwent a lengthy deployment with multiple extensions.
> The Theodore Roosevelt and its carrier strike group arrived in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations on Friday “to deter aggression, promote regional stability, and protect the free flow of commerce in the region,” according to U.S. Central Command.
