   When was the last time a foreign power essentially ruined their own country trying to win a relatively unimportant war that they started? Argentina in 1982 comes to mind on a much smaller scale.

7. It is interesting that for the last three months causalities have been at or above 35,000 . If Russia is recruiting 25,000 per month that is a 10,000 per month shortfall so that supposed 450,000 troops is now down to 420,000. May that be true and the trend continue or even accelerate.
