  1. Jamie Lee Curtis see’s RDJ getting paid 100+ million for Doomsday and apologies, hoping she hop on the gravy train and get a similar payday.

  2. I mean she wasn’t wrong. Why is everyone afraid of putting down Marvel? I enjoyed everything up to endgame but it’s clear they are aimless at the moment and people are tired of it. There’s nothing wrong with Curtis saying that.

Does marvel have any actual pull outside of their own eco system?

  3. Man. The stans probably went nuts. And she was in the right

  4. This is creepy.. marvel has been bad. Like why is that blasphemy?

  5. She was so good in the her & Abby Elliott focussed episode of the 3rd season of The Bear, and with *Everything Everywhere All At Once* and *Knives Out*, I dunno, *Borderlands* maybe if it surprises everyone and does well, there’s a neat little possible JLC resurgence slowly happening over the past 5 years or so =)

  6. She’s probably just thrilled she no longer has to position herself as an Oscar-Worthy actor. She’ll go back to taking genre roles without worrying about that perception after EEAAO, and Disney is the biggest genre entertainment operation in town.

  7. Are we at the point where we can’t even criticize the most popular and financially successful series of films ever?

  8. It’s not in her nature it seems 🤔 or she could just have missteps like a lot of people

  9. Where’s the apology when she posted a picture of Palestinian kids and claimed they were from Israel?

  10. Funny that there was any kind of backlash.

We all KNOW that the MCU is in a slump. As that article states, Ryan Reynolds points out that even the latest MCU movie itself makes fun of the state of the MCU.

She made one silly comment. One that was kind of accurate too! Not sure what she had to apologize for. Although I like it anyway – there’s not enough love in the world, so nice to see someone saying “yeah, maybe I should have been nicer.”

  11. Nah she right tho. Marvel is lame and not even trying anymore

  12. She’s still under the influence of being Carmen’s mom

  13. IMO it’s more about the directors / actors / writers involved in marvel. Kevin Feige is fine, but isn’t it a little cringey to openly laugh at a franchise that dozens of your colleagues have been a part of, and spoke positively about?

Also worth noting, a lot of marvel products are for kids, teens and young adults, so it’s double cringey when a grown ass adult is like “marvel sucks! lol!” and acts like they’re “bad” for saying it

  14. It’s a decent enough statement (I guess apology?) I suppose, but I’m really kind of getting sick of this whole “the Internet made me do it” bullshit that everyone seems to say, and which she is tacitly saying too.

Has the Internet become a cesspool? Sure. But it doesn’t MAKE anyone do anything. She decided to say what she did, as a full-grown adult no less, and if all it took to make her say it was seeing some people online also saying similar things… or worse because she thought it would get her some attention or something… then it’s not the fault of the Internet at all.

There’s a really dangerous “X made me do it!” mentality in the modern world. It seems like too many people just don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions, there always has to be some inciting incident, or some influence that made them do it. No, we’re each in control of our actions, pretty much exclusively, so when you say or do something stupid it’s on you. Sure, things influence us, few of us live in a vacuum, but at the end of the day you choose to take a given action regardless. Everyone used to understand that, but it doesn’t seem like everyone does anymore.

Calling it a “mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet” may be accurate. Describing it as a “toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content” may be a fair characterization. But YOU decided to play in that sandbox, and YOU decided to play the game, Jamie Lee. The responsibility is 100% yours and your statement reads like you don’t actually think that.

  15. She shouldn’t have to apologize for that. She said Marvel was stupid and in a bad phase. Who cares if it bothers people? I say stuff that pisses people off but I don’t give two shits if it upsets them.
