They lost £5billion to covid loan fraud and are hoping no one notices. Now they’re raising your taxes (NI contributions).
I just read the BBC’s take on this and it’s not remotely critical of the fact that it’s the same money being re-announced.
It should come as no surprise that it’s not new money, they do this all the time.
Of course it’s a stunt, and anybody who doesn’t realise is thick as pigshit.
My constituency is solid labour, has been for decades, is pretty run down, and gets no leveling up money.
The next constituency over is a swing seat, currently tory held, and much more prosperous (far from perfect, but undeniably better off) and is getting leveling up money.
Damn politicians bribing the people that elected them and the investment that they promised before the election in the regions that those people live in. Then announcing that their doing it over and over again so people know they’re doing it.

But by tomorrow Johnson will have fucked it up again.
That boulder will be at the bottom of the mountain again and he’ll start finding another way to save Johnson’s arse… again.
