President Biden was working to release these hostages despite his big announcement. That is very impressive.
This is all too common of a theme for Republicans.
They talk a big game about being about policies. But what are Republican policies? They always boil down to, “Democrats did X badly, we would have done it better.”
But they never give the specifics. And when they do propose alternative approaches, there’s never actually any reason to believe that those approaches would have “really” been better. Their accomplishment solely exist in the realms of talk and fantasy.
Trump and Vance want to talk a big game of how Trump would have done this better. But he didn’t. In fact, he didn’t even do it at all.
It’s Democratic presidents who actually go out there and do things. All Republicans can do is nitpick and second guess — they never really accomplish any good on their own initiative given the chance.

Therefore, if Putin released the hostages to Biden, it has to mean that Russia is now convinced Trump will lose the election.
