As it has been for every election, that last part is the caveat.
I’ve never seen youth more excited and active about an election then these past two weeks have shown. Not even 2016 had this energy
Something has changed
Taylor Swift, do your thing!

Taylor Swift… you know what to do…
And if we want them to show up, we could make voting easier?
But for similar reasons, we know why conservatives don’t want a federal holiday for voting…
So it was just Biden’s age, as polling would now suggest. Not some cop-out from people who were never going to vote D anyway.
I’ll be damned!
They say this every election. Spoiler: they never do.
Take a youngster with you to vote! Your friends or your friends’s kids or whoever can vote, get them to vote!
Young voters could and should decide *every* election. (but rarely actually do and I vehemently want to be wrong)
Abortion and weed on the ballot in FL, lfg!
If you show up you win, if you stay home you lose.
“could”
I don’t get it. I couldn’t wait to vote in my first presidential election when I was 18, and I haven’t missed one yet. It’s really easy to vote, especially if you vote early.
Cmon kids, I haven’t missed a single presidential election since I turned 18.
I can still remember walking to my polling place at a local elementary school to vote for Barack Obama in 2008.
They show up, and this election isn’t even close.
They won’t show up. Spoiler alert n
Millennials are the largest population cohort ***ever***. We could decide literally every election ever, if we show up.
And we’re not even “young voters” anymore.
I’ve never voted but will this year cause apparently there’s a lot of people that want trump to win and absolutely fuck that he made my life a nightmare in 2019-2020
if the kids show up and vote we can beat the cheeto jesus … they just need to actually cast their vote
This is said literally every election. Its always true; young people could easily sway an election but will they show up?? Historically, no they wont.
In the past… two or three decades, the highest young voter turnout was 20% for Obama first term. The lowest was just above 10% for the most recent election. 1/5 to 1/9 is the min/max range of this voter block. And its why democrats dont usually focus on them, and why the gop ignores and mocks them.
Im hoping Kamala encourages a lot of new young voters but Im also being real here: expecting even a quarter of young voters to show is likely a fantasy. I mean, please prove me wrong, but Ill see it when it actually happens
Spoiler alert: they won’t.
Same as it ever was, same as it ever was!
Damn guess we’re fucked
My son rails about the current situation, how us older people have screwed things up. But he won’t vote. Says, “What’s the point?” Somehow, he doesn’t make the connection that if the young don’t vote, the older gen will decide what world they will inherit.
We’re doomed then (statistically speaking).
Situation normal…
For the love of f’ing god, please show up!
They say this every election. I’ll believe it when I see it.
College students need to inquire about absentee ballots – school starts soon and they likely won’t be home on Election Day. Get out and vote! Harris 2024!💙💙💙
Young voter here. I’m showing up, and I’m dragging my brother to the polls with me.
Nope. Women will decide this election. It’s obvious, and they will show up.
What an utterly useless clickbait article. Literally any demographic could decide a vote if they actually showed up. It’s a fucking democracy. That’s the whole point of voting.
AOC said in 2021 that the Democratic Party needed to understand that young voters showed up for them in 2020 ( An 11 percent increased in young voter turnout from 2016, a historic level rise, but it took A LOT of money from the DNC through ballot chasing, ballot harvesting and engagement to make that happen, it was not cheap) and if you don’t “deliver for them” that they won’t show up for you again.
Biden offered the false hope of Student Loan Forgiveness, even though he knew it was impossible by Executive Order and that the courts would strike down any attempt as such ( You need Congress to do it and so many in Congress would lose reelection if they got anywhere near it, including popular Democrats) He didn’t deliver. Biden offered a higher minimum wage, federally mandated. Didn’t happen. He promised there would be no vaccine mandates, until he signed two Executive Orders to do it. The Israel/Hamas War will lose the Democrats some voters. What about climate change? Young voters just saw lip service then a quiet return to massive drilling. And many young people are hurting financially, and they will blame the current Party in power and in the White House right now for it.
Why show up if you don’t deliver for them? Now many of them might hate Trump, but they also might hate what they see from Biden/Harris/Obama and the rest of the Democrats even more. That might be enough to sit out the election. Or vote for RFK Jr. Or vote for Jill Stein.
The Young Turks ran the numbers, since 2020, Biden/Harris has dropped anywhere from 30-44 points with young voters. That’s staggering. So claims that Harris has gained 20 points with young voters is still an election false hope. She might get some back because she’s not Biden, but alot of damage was done the past four years.
You simply cannot ask young voters to get nothing in return for their vote. That’s what’s happening here. “Trump Bad” just isn’t enough this time. The majority of the mainstream media, that leans hard left, will try to sell that. But lots of uncommitted, independents, moderates and undecideds aren’t buying it.
Anyone remember Paris Hilton vote or die? Then she didn’t vote
This. Register and go vote. Please.
The more youth that vote, the better
