First Batch of F-16 Jets Arrive in Ukraine, Russia Warns of Major Escalation | Firstpost America

The first batch of long-awaited F-16 jets have arrived in Ukraine, Lithuania’s foreign minister and a US official confirmed on Wednesday, an effort Kyiv has said will help rebuild its depleted air force. F-16s, built by Lockheed Martin, have been on Ukraine’s wish list for a long time because of their destructive power and global availability. The F-16 specialises in suppressing enemy air defences. The West had hesitantly moved towards to provide the jets after concerns that arming Ukraine with advanced weaponry would further escalate the war with Russia. However, NATO members Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway agreed to donate a total of 50 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. Meanwhile, The U.S. has been training Ukrainian pilots on how to fly the jets and has already graduated the first group of pilots on its operation.

  1. Need expertism to fly these jets. Even a well trained pilots on these jets know how things work in real wars . Now that they have givein f16 for wars, they will start selling to other countires

  2. It’s all a con. The defense industries get to replenish the US arsenal at taxpayer expense.
Also at higher prices. No doubt kickbacks to the Democrat Party as ‘donations’.
    We’re being scammed !

  3. Are these equipped with AI? If they are I am sure they will not say. "The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) announced on Feb. 13 that it successfully tested an F-16 test aircraft with an AI software that flew the aircraft for 17 hours.Feb 14, 2023"

  4. With the Russian depth of air defenses, not sure how good they are compared to what Ukraine had at the start of the war. Russian FPVs are loitering and they can easily spot them when stationed and destroy also..

  5. 6 pilots 12 jets and a few boxes of parts. Barely enough for an air show let alone an air force. Don't worry tho Ukraine will weld some weird metal part to the air frame..to win the war

  6. Major escalation? So…nuclear weapons or bigger glide bombs. Because there's literally nothing else in the Russian arsenal that intimidates anyone.

  7. Russia handed over 250 bodies of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to KievIn return, Moscow received 38 bodies of Russian fighters.
Speaking about the number of bodies of Russian fighters, the channel emphasizes that they "were no more." Thus, the number of bodies of AFU soldiers is more than six and a half times higher than the number of bodies of Russian fighters. Whether this can say anything about the ratio of losses, information is not provided.
