An R rated comedy is the number one movie in the world right now…
Generally speaking he’s kind of right tho. I feel like The Hangover set precedent and then everyone’s been trying to chase its success.
You motorboatin son of a batch, you old sailor.
Then Vince should go back to making more amazing comedies like wedding crashers or dodgeball. But please, I mean like those movies, no sequels
He’s right, but respectfully, R-rated comedies aren’t worth the cost of a movie ticket in today’s money. That’s pretty much reserved for *movie experiences* and movies with lots of explosions and cool graphics.
Marvel pretty much broke the movie going experience.
The last R-Rated comedy I can think of was No Hard Feelings, but even then, it wasn’t a movie as much as it was just the director/writer projecting his really weird fetish that he’s alluded to in nearly everything he’s done.
They’re too worried about offending people now so comedy is boring. Nobody does the naked gun/scary movie type films either. They all want to be overly clever/careful which just makes them suck.
Studios should all have an imprint that does just raunchy comedies & thrillers. It’ll make money & It’ll be easy to throw the “studio” under the bus if needed.
