  6. Their weird. I don’t know of anyone with a macroeconomics background who would propose Bitcoin as a means to pay off national debt. The man has zero credible policies offering. Other than circling the wagon on the racist-bigot vote, there really isn’t any substance to his thoughts. When we speak to the obvious cognitive impairment of Biden, we need to start including nursing home ready DonOLD as he gaffs-whiffs-forgets even his same day lies. Their weird.

  7. BTC is not an entity, it’s a commodity held by many people. BTC has no official tangible value back by an entity it’s all perceived value by the holders and if any corporations accept it.

    Is trump going to force every BTC owner to pay? Is the US gov going to just buy BTC with USD to jack up the price then sell it to pay off debts causing a huge free fall. Why would the debt holders even accept BTC at that point

  9. I doubt this has anything to do with what Trump *believes*. The point is to get support from specific people (crypto holders), and to have another vector of attack against international finance (that is a primary sponsor of US Democrats).

     

    On a separate note, paying off US debt with Bitcoin would be possible only if USD loses its role as international reserve currency and gets obliterated through hyperinflation. National debt would be inconsequential in such situation.

  15. The entire market cap for Bitcoin is less than 2 trillion… Although trying to pay off a 34 trillion dollar debt with less than 2 trillion would be right on Trump’s brand of stupidity.

  36. If all countries start using it as reserve asset it can be possible, Bitcoin already has a correlation to global liquidity.

    So if there is enough demand and scarcity the price could get to a point where enough bitcoin can cover a good chunk if not all the national debt.

    Remember market cap isn’t the amount of money that is in there, it is the price * supply.
    And price is an agreement between parties.

    Still not a fan of Trump, just clearing up, it is possible.

  41. Read the Loomis bill. It revalues gold to buy bitcoin. Currently, gold is valued at $42, not $2500 an ounce.

  45. Does anyone else feel this is a con to pump up Bitcoin to indirectly aid those who invest in the crypto to include Trump himself? I don’t hate crypto but this doesn’t feel like draining the swamp.
