Came across a few myself on the comeragh the other day but think it’s probably just a early flush after the mediocre summer, heat last few days has most likely stopped them again. Will be watching like a hawk though 🙂
If the grass is long , the soil is heavy in nutrients and the dew is right , caps can start as early as June. My garden is full of them when I don’t cut the grass.
It’s nice to have a mushroom stir-fry which makes all diners not want to go to war and murder people.

Better off asking in r/beacain! Seems a month too early to me but I am not an expert 😅
It’s the weather I think. Here in Galway it’s been dull, wet and cool for a while
I don’t think those are liberty caps – no nipple. I have seen yokes that look like that before in the same fields but out of season. Be careful.
They look more like Haymakers, Liberty Cap have a little nipple on top.
Someone in Sweden was posting on the shroomID sub last week with a handful of libs so perhaps. They don’t look like libs though

They definitely are Liberty caps

I spied a few in Wicklow last week.
Golf course, South Kildare, covered in them last night
Nice one, might take a spin up Kildare and Wicklow on the bike, I got a few in rathcroghan in Roscommon
They look like Brown Mottlegills. Libs have nips!
It’s time to take a trip…..
