  1. Yeah, that dutch crime rate is a real problem.

If you see someone acting dutch, maybe worth reporting them to the police as a precaution.

  2. I’m quite surprised to see the Vietnamese incarceration rate being that high.

I was under the impression that the Southeast Asian diaspora in Europe was usually underrepresented in crime statistics?

  3. I wonder whether this is affected by prisoners being permitted to serve their time in their native homeland instead of the UK, as, if this were to affect these statistics, would negatively impact the numbers for those nationals of countries with whom the UK has a strong working relationship.

  4. I’m pleasantly surprised by Indians being one of the lowest incarcerated group. I mean, the Indian population is huge in England and given the sheer absolute numbers, I would have expected them to be much higher up the list. Seem to be a keep your head down and work your way through the system bunch.

  5. I am sure am glad we left the EU, so all those trouble causing Polish and Hungarian people couldn’t get in and send out crime rates skyrocketing.

  6. For about 5 years there was a constant press campaign against Romanians and Bulgarians. I remember when they went to the airport the first day the restrictions to work freely in the UK were lifted and managed to find a single poor Romanian soul arriving there after they were announcing a flood. 5 fucking years of “dey took our jerbs”, they steal and beg, they’ll flood us, crime waves, etc etc.

And after all that, and after shooting themselves in the foot with Brexit to stop Romanian and Bulgarians coming there, we find out that their biggest problem is outside EU immigration.

    Amazing.

  7. After reading the title judging by some attitudes in the west (especially pre brexit) I was afraid to look at the chart at first expecting Polish to be at the top.

  8. So this is by nationality, not national origin? So immigrants who are now UK citizens would be included in the British nationals category. I wonder if the numbers based on national origin are similar. I would assume so.

  9. Guys, it seems that everyone has mastered the figure except me. I don’t get it. Nationality, Non-British nationals, British nationals… how do I read this?

  10. Fucking hell. We are *Somali* not Somalian. Even the government statistics can’t get it right, it’s like calling a German, Germanese or some shit.

  11. Travellers would be more than triple the Albanian rate according to government stats, which is pretty astonishing as an extra data point.

  12. I thought only the richest of Iranians emigrated to London/UK so I’m surprised lol

  13. Being half Polish and having lived there for a chunk of my life and knowing what kind of people emigrated… I have to be honest, I am very pleasantly surprised.

  14. Most of those “”Portuguese” are from Angola, Brazil and Cape Verde because Portugal has a very relaxed policy of awarding the national passport.

  15. The European nationalities are meaningless in the statistics, at least those from Western European countries. I’d take any bet that out of the 55 Germans incarcerated, 40+ are naturalised and are originally from the top 20 countries on the chart.

  16. For Romania i was guessing it was higher but then again most people i know going to the UK are working in well paying jobs.
