Awesome! I hope Katie Porter co-sponsors it.
Gatorade I’m looking at you. From 32 ounces to 28 ounces. Smh
Good shit. This is what real people are mad about.
Hell yeah! Even if she’s not successful getting the bill through Congress, the people will plainly see that the Republicans don’t even give half a fuck about normal-ass Americans just trying to get by.
Aren’t they already required to list the weight of the product they are selling thus are already telling you are getting less?
>The shrinkflation bills are highly unlikely to land on Biden’s desk, as Republicans control the House and Democrats hold a razor-thin majority in the Senate. So far the bills have attracted only Democratic lawmakers as co-sponsors, and not all of them. But many Democrats see it as a winning issue with voters. The Biden administration has tried to build an agenda around reducing prices for families, in part by attacking hidden or “junk” fees corporations attach to their products.
It’s a winning issue! Get to pointing out that the shillbillie weirdos of the GOP don’t want to help Americans, they want to attack imaginary cat ladies.
I like this idea. Make them advertise their deception.
$6 for a small bag of Ruffles.
PUNISH THEM
*New! Smaller serving!*
Yeeees! Add greedflation to it too!
I am still very upset about cadbury’s cream eggs. Enough said.
I got a box of Honey Nut Cheerios for the first time in years. My brain didn’t want to make sense of what I was looking at. The box was smaller and it was thinner than what I remembered. Ditto for the Doritos we got this week.
Make the Kingsford blue two bag special 2x20lb for $20 again and not 2x16lb for $20.
Awesome bill. Enough of that. I saw Cliff Bars snuck 5 pack boxes on the shelf instead of 6 with no tangible price change
It’s not just that the quantities are smaller and the prices are higher. The quality of so many iconic brands has gone way down, especially food.
So, during the pandemic, I got into the habit of cooking my own food far more often. I mean, what else could I do? 🙂
Now, I’m eating healthier and I have more control over flavor and portion sizes. Win, win, win.
It would never garner support to pass, and if a miracle happened and it did, the fines would be so small that they’d be meaningless.
I don’t know why there isn’t a popular site that documents the history of every product in terms of size, ingredients, and price changes over time including real and adjusted to inflation prices. It could include packages and prepared foods.
I want an independent database, hell, call it WikiFood or something.
100% approve of this. It pisses me off so much when you buy the same product and notice:
* The package is smaller, in a way they hope you don’t notice.
* They change the serving size, so that there are “more servings”
* They boast that there are “20% MORE SERVINGS!”
* They charge you 15% more for the smaller amount.
They’re screwing you in every way available to them at once. Fuck these companies.
No more stock buybacks and crazy C-suite compensation either!!!
Fuck yeah! I hope they can get that shit passed
Everything shrank some using the “ improved packaging to preserve freshness” BS while other things like toilet paper still tell you the length and number of sheets BUT what they don’t tell you is the width is a little over and inch smaller and that’s really shitty.
I Like this….Shrinkflation has been going on for at least 40 years, it started very subtlly and started with industries “concentrating” their products. For example, I noticed it back in 1980 when they started to concentrate fabric softener. It was very very thick at first then over time it was watered down
Hagen dazs selling 14 oz “pints” is bull shit
It’s crazy. Family size is now smaller than regular was before.
Good. I don’t mind price inflation. I don’t mind reducing quantities if price is kept the same. But I HATE when they do both.
This goes to deceptive advertisements, we’re the only developed country that allows sellers to outright lie, exaggerate, and omit information about what is being sold.
all the labeling laws need to be tightened up. everything from ingredients. enforcing common measure, and countries of origin need to be made mandatory and enforced
I’m just pop p
looking at you huggies
